About Jeff

Jeff is a retired self-employed joiner from Lancashire.Having no formal training in drawing and painting, he only discovered his talent when facing looming retirement in 2017.After joining an art group at Sawley Village Hall, Jeff realised the eye for detail he utilised in his working life could be applied to his paintings.

A keen fisherman and qualified Fly Casting Instructor his first creations were, of course, fish from which he received his first commission.

He has since gone on to paint landscapes and wildlife that he sees, and photographs while on his travels. Jeff’s goal is to capture the essence of a scene, whist not a photographic reproduction his aim is to draw the viewer into the story within the picture.

Early in 2019 Jeff’s work was endorsed by the NATIONAL TRUST and a selection is now available at the gift shop in Lyme Park, Stockport.

He is the first to say he is still learning and is always trying new mediums, but feels he is at his best when using oils.

Jeff paints a wide range of animals and wildlife in a variety of styles and sizes. Using mixed media – watercolour, acrylic and oils, each piece is developed to get the best representation.

All artwork is painted on the finest quality papers and can be presented either unmounted or framed. Sizes vary from small A4 studies up to 180cm larger works, this depends on the subject and budget.

Jeff aims to get to know about his clients and create a paintings that they are thrilled to hang in their home.
